The Darkness II / Teaser / Concept Art

G-Net asked Blind and creative director Mark Bellncula to create a highly stylized teaser for 2K’s The Darkness II, the forthcoming sequel to their 2007 hit. With an existing script, a tight schedule but an open creative brief, we signed on to keep things dark and mysterious. Mark tapped into a hypnotic vibe, allowing a carousel of characters to emerge from ethereal smoke.

Particle simulations combined with filmed smoke elements comprise most of the piece, punctuated by moments of profound violence. Benign figures are blown apart into the smoke before seamlessly reforming into menacing supernatural creatures.
