Second short film by Mardo El-Noor, about three inanimate objects discussing various theories behind the violence among their kinds. The project is entirely animated in 2d animation, made to resemble 3D animation, made to resemble stop animation!
  • Rock Paper Scissorssecond short film (2010)
  • In a world of talking objects and conflicting viewpoints lies a story of political talks and violent intolerance. Upon Paper’s request for a truce among their kinds, Rock, Paper and Scissors meet on neutral grounds.
But their session gets off to a rocky start before it turns to a sharp argument!

Visually, the short film borrows from Russian animation & East European aesthetics, & is heavily influenced by a short illustrated story by Dave McKean titled 'His Story'. It is a quirky piece made in 2D animation to look like 3D animation to look like stop animation!

The short film premiered at New Zealand International Film Festival in 2010.
  • An expressionistic sequence where Scissors tells her theory about the reason behind the violence between their kinds.
  • Confrontation between the three characters.
  • Paper & Scissors are listening to Rock's explanation.
