Created while working at Wing Productions, this piece presented a great deal of problems and challenges. The first was a great deal of shot fixes including removing the driver from shots, removing a fly in shot that showed up on the phantom footage. There were also reflexions in the car of crew which also needed to be keyed out.
Once these fixes were done we needed to work out the best workflow which in this case was linear. Working in 16BIT in After Effects also meant that many effects do not work and as such any effect had to be built manually. Like the effects on the car in the second act, this was achieved layering and echoing layers, with blend modes and flashes.
The first light was done at MPC then a final layer of grades I added in After Effects.
Finally the 3D elements and 4 screen split were created as the film was to be projected across 4 screens at the Motor Show. The 3D elements gave the screens a sense of depth and in essence projection maps, which helped bring depth to the black space in between the screens.
