Description
The birth of the Robocube
Share

  • The Robodock organisation is a foundation famous for their annual robodock festivals celebrating installations and kinetic art. They wanted a short movie to introduce their new concept - the Robocube, a reconfigurable building to accomodate expositions, offices, and a studio for artists in residence.

Being fans of the Robodock festivals, and kinetic theatrical art in general, we were honored to make this short film, cooperating with friends and collaborators to reach a result we can be very proud of.

Taking the rebirth installation (a giant wooden phoenix which left a steel egg in her ashes) from their last festival as a theme, we devised an abtract film which emphasizes the transformative nature of the building, and it's subsequent birth from the steel egg, while staying true to the gritty dark style of the festival.
