    Is he behind bars, or is it just an illusion?

    The Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, charged with war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur, should have been brought to the International Criminal Court already. Yet, he continues to govern, and the international community is turning a blind eye.

    This film brings the paradox of this unacceptable situation to life, pointing the finger at the impotence of the international justice system.

    Al Bashir seems tobe behind the bars of a prison, but in reality he’s standing behind the treesused to hang civilians during a raid. Al Bashir seems to be suffering behindthe bars of a prison cell, but in reality he is hunched behind microphones, preparingto stir up the crowd with hateful words.
