BSF Commercial
This Commercial BSF Commercial
This Commercial was executed by Artware Corp (www.artwarecorp.com ) production and post production house, in cooperation with Third EyeFX.
My role in this commercial was VFX Supervisor and Lead Technical Director, me and Ammar Alani (Director and VFX producer) did all the research for this kind of shots, mocap and camera based mocap, and other required techniques to capture the movement and the environment as much as we can, and to transfer these elements to the final shots with all its CG and live characters.
We had to capture the performance of the actors and replace them with CG substitute, while keeping the interaction between the later and other actors, environment and light accurate.
Using a RED One camera, mounted on MILO motion control device as the principle camera, in addition to three more cameras to capture the trackers on the woman and the child, we transferred their movement into two crash dummies CG characters in the final delivered commercial.
We used camera based mocap technique ( character tracking ) to do that in matchmover software, then automatically transferred those tracks movements into 3DS Max using Max scripting language directly as a CSM file ( mocap file ) to animate two 3D characters automatically, and we used Maya and Endorphin ( AI and character Dynamic simulation ) to complete some difficult actions ( which we couldn't achieve on set ( violent movements )) such as pulling the woman on the ground, throwing her against the wall and such.
We used HDRI to capture the lights and other reflection maps around our characters, and we rendered all required layers ( sss, diff, amb, zDepth, velocity, reflection...... ) using mental ray to composite them finally in Nuke and after effects.
